Departure. End of route “Coastal coast that we will travel in the reverse direction.
Difficulty: Easy.
Journey: 450 m (one way). Pedestrian and cyclotourist use, accessible.
From the esplanade of the cemetery, which we can reach by car from the neighbourhood of Piñeres, from where the town of Candás can be seen. This neighbourhood is a good illustration of the growth of Candás, which has been gaining ground towards higher elevations and less protected, by comparison, with the original location, hidden, from here, at the bottom of the port’s vagueness.
Looking well at San Antonio’s lighthouse, to which, first descending and then bordering cliffs, we are taking our route.
Already in the Faro de San Antonio, from the, to the north-west, to our left looking at the sea, we see, in the background, the ceiling covering Luanco, the capital of the neighbouring municipality of Gozón, ending in the Punta del Caballo (which in turn hides the Punta de la Vaca). Closer, the Antromero coast, which is of great geological interest, with the uniqueness of the mild fall towards the sea of the peninsula, which is unusual on the Asturian sea façade.
If you continue walking, you can see the San Antonio chapel, two real canyons from the 18th century, and the sculptural park of the Anton Museum, which then completes a distance of 1 km.
