Parc Les Conserveres

Dedicated to the memory of the women in the factory, which is popularly known as the Ojeda Park.

It is at the heart of the population, between the streets of La Cruz, Rincón and Avda. Queen María Cristina and Avda. of the Constitution, surrounded by road AS-239, Luanco-El Empalme (Cardió). It covers an area of approximately 7.700 m² and has access from the streets referred to above.

In the lower area, with access via the Avda. Construction, a service area is located with a children’s playground and an exhibition room, which occupies the primitive cushion or water reservoir of the factory in question.

The second area, accessible through a wooded boulevard, is a large space with a platform of around 800 m², intended to host shows and various entertainment and cultural activities.

This space is complemented by 6 slipways for the location of the public. On the broadest slipway, there is a wall approximately 30 m long and 1.5 m high, a work by Benjamin Menéndez, which recasts a vision of the Candás from the 60s.

The last area is a Botanical Garden, with an interesting and varied collection of plant species, including a palmeral with more than 20 different species. The park was inaugurated in May 1999. Their conservation status is very good.
