Los Carreño Palace

Located in Barrio Sebades No 5, Logrezana. The site is accessed from AS-19 Gijón-Avilés, where on P.K. 12,400 the asphalt agglomerate branch is taken to the right and after circulating about 300 m it arrives at the Palais.

This is the Palace of the Concejo’s most important family, the birthplace of the Carreño lineage, from which renowned characters were born such as:

Mr Álvaro de Carreño, a guerrero from the time of Alfonso II El Casto, who is attributed an artimaña similar to that of the Troya horse but with trolleys where he managed to take the Plaza de Carrión de los Condes away from the moros.

Mr Fernando Carreño, builder of La Mota de Medina del Campo Castle.

Juan Carreño Miranda, painter at the Chamber of King Carlos II.

Mr Rodrigo de Carreño, Treasurer General of the Principality of Asturias.

The current state of the Palais is acceptable thanks to the reforms it has undergone in relation to the repair of the roof and the improvement of the external face. It keeps a half-point door from the 12th century and another warhead from the 14th century, it previously owned a tower that was destroyed by lightning in the last century. She has an ermite that seems to be dedicated to Ntra. Ms de la O.

Two doors are kept from its original factory, one in the north-west wall, half a point of the 13th century, and the other in the south-east.

A shield is still kept on its façade: four posters with Carreño, Alas and Casamayor weapons. Yelmo with CIMERA.
