It is located inside the Maestro Antuña Park, between the streets of Covadonga, Pedro Braña and Avda. del Ferrocarril, very close to the Teatro Prendes.
He recalls the original Pleito against the dolphins and pilot whales, which were the protagonists of the Candás sailors in 1624, as these species eaten fishing and destroyed nets, disturbing fishermen. For that reason, the fishermen brought an action and, following a trial, the case was won by the candasins.
The notary then embarked and once at sea, read to the dolphins the judgment which told him that they could not return to those costs. Dolphins for their part complied with the law and disappeared permanently. This monument was made by sculptor Vicente Santarúa.
