Dolménica area Les Huelgues de San Pablo

According to Blas Cortina, the best preserved tuna in the pre-historic season is a classic example of a simple or better dolm, known as a megalytic chest. Its sepulcral chamber is offered as a large drawer made up of thick quartzite weights, with a single lid of the same rock.

Once the chamber was built, it was wrapped laterally by an ordered mass of stone blocks.

The subsequent phases focused on covering the grave with powerful layers of sediment, alternating and reinforced by other well-sized layers of stones. The tunnel thus constructed was delimited perimetrically by a ring also made of blocks. Its solid construction fostered its sustainability.

This dolm is identified by the archaeology team of the University of Oviedo as Arreo Monte VI.

The instruments found in this shift do not reflect an advanced megalytic stage: a scraper, a small fibrolite hook, lascas...

With regard to its location: There are several paths leading us to this dolm, perhaps the least risk of loss is on the EC-6 road, at the level of the parish of Guimarán, in the Bo de Cespedera, taking the turnout known as Subida to San Pablo (following the Camino de Santiago). At the end of the boarding, continue along the track in the direction of the horse’s dashboard and take the turnout to the left. The line is on the right-hand side of the carriageway.
