The Church of Sta. Eulalia del Valle, as well as 14 other churches and three ermites in Carreño, were owned by the king, whose monarchs transferred them to the Cathedral of Oviedo between the mid-ninth and early twelfth centuries and were established in parishes from the thirteenth century onwards. That church was also known as ‘Santa Eulalia del arreo, Del Arco or Del Carro’. According to the donation made by King Alfonso III ‘El Magno’ and Queen Jimena as ‘Church annexed to that of San Esteban de Guimarán’ on 905.

Over the years, this Temple has suffered many arrangements and reforms so far, and was rebuilt at the end of the Spanish Civil War, having been burnt. The last renovation was that initiated in 2000 and completed at the beginning of 2001.

According to the candasín exemption, González Posada, the name ‘Santa Olaya del Arco’ is due to the Arco del Triunfo in its dam. The designation ‘Del Carro’ is due to a protruding rock bearing that name, not far from this church and close to the mountain ridge, dominating the whole parish and a place where there is currently a gaze. Its conservation status is good, marked by the locality but not by the church.

Santa Eulalia patrona de la parroquia, celebrated on 12 December, with solemn misa and magüestu. That of Nuestra Señora del Carmen on 16 July, which, while always held on Sunday if 16 does not fall on a public holiday, is postponed to the following Sunday, during which religious acts, rhomeria and the display of products from the roadside are carried out.
