Sardina Festival

On 1 August, Candás celebrates its Sardina Festival, a gastronomic event that has been organised since 1970 and is recognised as a festival of tourist interest in the Principality of Asturias.

The stands on the walk grip the sardines in the eyes of the public and thousands of kilos, accompanied by cider, are consumed throughout the day. The festival also delivers the Golden Sardine to the establishment that best prepares them.

The day is part of the San Félix festivities, which are held around that date with pasacalles, nautical festivities, popular food and verbenas on the quayside.
