San Antonio Lighthouse barrels

The canyons of the San Antonio Lighthouse, dating back to the eighteenth century, were initially located in the Port of Candás, but as a result of works they were transferred in 1770 to the promontory of San Antonio, where we can now find two of them.

Originally there were three guns, but the documents found show that when the French entered Candás, in order to avoid any insurrection by the premises, they launched at sea the 200 weapons in the town in addition to the guns at the top of San Antonio.

Two of these canyons were successfully recovered, which today point to threatening but inoffensive seas that were the scene of the passage of French and also English ships 200 years ago.
